The Bo & Kerstin Hjelt Foundation for type 2 diabetes research was established in 2008 and has as a long-term goal to fund research to prevent and cure type 2 diabetes. The Foundation finances diabetes research at the Medical Faculties of Lund University, Sweden and Geneva University, Switzerland.
The Foundation solicits applications from young scientists with a PhD or MD degree on the way to independence. Applications from researchers with permanent positions are not accepted.
Preference will be given to novel projects rather than support for on-going research. The subsidy can cover salaries and/or costs for consumables including laboratory rodents. Equipment and other infrastructure will not be financed.
The application period for 2019 is 15 October – 1 December.

After completion of your year as a grant holder, The Bo and Kerstin Hjelt Diabetes Foundation require a short summary of your project, focusing on the results and importance of the findings for Diabetes type II, at the end of the stipend-period. Project Report deadline: August 31.
