Research Grants

The Bo & Kerstin Hjelt Foundation for type 2 diabetes research was established in 2008 and has as a long-term goal to fund research to prevent and cure type 2 diabetes. The Foundation finances diabetes research at the Medical Faculties of Lund University, Sweden and Geneva University, Switzerland.

The Foundation solicits applications from young scientists with a PhD or MD degree on the way to independence. Applications from researchers with permanent positions are not accepted.

Preference will be given to novel projects rather than support for on-going research. The subsidy can cover salaries and/or costs for consumables including laboratory rodents. Equipment and other infrastructure will not be financed.

The application period for 2020 is 15 October – 1 December 2019.

Project funding beginning on April 1st, 2020
